Our newest team member, Adam Williams shares why he became an Osteopath

When I hurt my neck playing rugby, it was a frustrating time. I couldn’t train properly, and it felt like I had lost control over my body. I tried lots of different things but nothing seemed to be working for me. My mum suggested I see her friend who was an osteopath. I didn’t know much about it, but I trust my mum, so I gave it a go.

What really stood out to me during treatment was how the osteopath looked at the bigger picture—not just my neck but how everything in my body worked together. The hands-on treatment and advice got me moving again, and soon enough, I was back doing what I loved. With more confidence in my body and my own ability to manage my health. Also what to do if I injured myself again in the future.

That experience stuck with me. It wasn’t just about fixing an injury; it was about helping someone get back to their normal, doing everything they want to. That’s what inspired me to pursue the Master’s degree in Osteopathy.

Now, I get to do the same for others—helping people move better, manage injuries, or just feel more like themselves again.

It’s a rewarding job, being able to see the positive change in my patients as they regain confidence within themselves and their bodies to handle all the physical stresses life throws at us.
