Sydney Family Osteopaths have grown to include other modalities to help our clients maintain optimal health.

Osteopathy

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopaths treat more than you think. Our focus is on how your skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulatory system, connective tissue and internal organs function as a whole body unit.

What is Cranial Osteopathy?

Cranial osteopathy is not different to osteopathy, it is the name given to a subtle and refined approach to osteopathy that follows all the principles of osteopathy, and it is used throughout the body not just in the head.

Who do osteopaths treat?

It is often said that osteopaths treat people, not problems. This is because they take a holistic approach to healthcare, looking beyond just the physical symptoms of a condition and using a range of approaches to promote the long-term health of patients.

Acupuncture

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the traditional Eastern medicine practice of inserting very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate energy flow, relieve pain and improve function for overall wellness including stress management.

Acupuncture points are used to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. This stimulation boosts your body’s natural painkillers and treats common problems such as back pain, neck pain and joint pain to influence energy flow.

Acupuncturists treat a range of health conditions including:

  • Pain relief and pain management such as for back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, nerve pain, postural imbalances
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Orthopedic acupuncture, sport injuries and post-surgery recovery
  • Motor point and trigger point treatments
  • Fertility acupuncture including IVF support
  • Pregnancy and post-natal acupuncture
  • Women’s health
  • Anxiety and relaxation
  • Sleep issues
  • Stress management
  • Cosmetic and aesthetic acupuncture facials

Remedial MassageTherapy

What is remedial massage therapy?

Massage therapy is the practice of kneading or manipulating a person’s muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve their wellbeing or health. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.

There are many key benefits of regular remedial massage therapy such as:

  • pain relief,
  • supporting your immune system to function better,
  • both healing faster from injuries and becoming less likely to injure yourself at sport,
  • improved posture and mobility,
  • improved mood and overall wellbeing.

Remedial massage is a deeply personalised treatment method. It can be delivered as anything from a more relaxing and shallow massage, to a stronger deep-tissue massage.

Your massage therapist will conduct an initial consultation to understand your goal for the session. This may include identifying any particular areas of focus or existing injuries and conditions and addressing any concerns.

Naturopathy, Reiki and Meal Planning

Naturopathy

Naturopathy is one of the most popular forms of complementary medicine in Australia today. It emphasises holistic disease prevention through natural, therapeutic methods. It’s based on the principle that the body has an intrinsic ability to heal itself, with the body, mind, and emotions supported during the healing process.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle yet powerful energy healing practice that promotes balance and well-being on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Originating from the traditional Tanran system in Japan, Reiki works by channeling universal life force energy through the practitioner’s hands to the recipient.

Meal planning

Meal planning can help target specific health goals as well as make our busy lives simpler and help keep our food budgets cost effective.
